Bell Skate Park has been having several changes over the last two months, causing it to close down completely until further notice due to complaints from Bell residents.

The fact that the skate park is closed, doesn’t seem to prevent skaters from going out and skating. “I feel like it’s a disaster because no one has anywhere to go skate anymore in Bell,” says Jose Gonzalez (12A), “everybody is going to be in the streets vandalizing property just to get some skate sessions in.”

With the skate park being closed skaters will eventually find places to skate, which will end in them receiving tickets for skating in prohibited areas. “Without the skate park skaters are going to go to schools and jump the fences to use the stairs or move around the tables,” says Gonzalez.

People had gone to the City Council Meetings and complained about skaters being rude to the supervisors because they were not following the rules; such as not leaving trash around the ramps, using helmets, and not vandalizing. The reality of this matter is that there was no supervision at the park whatsoever and there were no helmets out for the skaters to wear.

Skaters find this incident to be unjust. “I’m always at the skate park, I don’t know why they complain so much there hardly is trash around and no one is rude with who ever is there,” says a Bell High student, “they really should reopen it before people take matters into their own hands.”

*writing this story was actually fun because i got to go to the  skate park and interview kids who were skating outside the skate park. i also went to the city council meetings and it was interesting to hear the arguments people had to close and reopen the skate park*

iPhone5 coming soon

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-apple-iphone-20120911,0,165492.story

apparently the whole idea of having the latest iphone is inevitable for teenagers. one thing that i liked about this story is that it may shift our economic status, so there's one good outlook about this. i mean besides having new phones or less people pay attention in class :p but its ok just as long as our economy is better right....no! >.<

Clinton touts Obama and warns against Romney

this story seems interesting because the elections are coming up in just a few months. also because this is a former President who is suggesting who they should follow. i mean he must know what he is saying because he did have that spot/ job years ago.

i find this interesting because most people go crazy when the new iphones come out, but this being a knock off will seriously cause a scandal.
